To say my train had gotten derailed would be an understatement. This is equally true of biting off more than I could chew. What I thought was going to be an easy to stick to writing schedule was a much like the cake; a lie. I first got mixed up with which story was supposed to be undated when. Then I became overwhelmed as more projects landed in my lap, some of which I’ve been working on for some time plus some family situations which included taking Zidane to the vet. Don’t worry, he’s fine outside of being angry with having to take medication everyday which requires for him to get picked up which he hates, but he’ll get over it. So the new schedule is by the end of this month for next Sunday’s update will be the long awaited chapter 11 of Hidden Mystique posted on the JukePop Serials site. I will also unveil a new cover for the serial which I totally love and can’t wait to share.
So, thank you for your patience. It’s been difficult trying to get the stories moving again, but I will succeed. The characters just have to be pushed along a bit.
As you can see, we are back! So far this year has kicked off with lots of deadlines, goals, and of course work. I had to tack on 5K more words to Frozen Reflection for the Amazon Novel Breakthrough Award Contest. It was tricky, but the additional content has improved the story overall. I’ll be updating the story in the relaunch this Spring/Summer. I have also achieved making the 50K for NaNoWriMo last November. It was a tremendous feat that I am still quite shocked to have succeeded in.
A Taste of Something New…
I had announced several months ago that my serial fiction story, Hidden Mystique was now live on JukePop Serials. It is currently up to 10 chapters since that last post. I have included a page under my stories for it. Please show your support by starting a free account and reading and voting for the chapters. Unlike the stories on this site, each chapter has a beginning, middle, and end kind of like a television episode. I’ll still be working on A Tail to Remember and Spark of Vengeance. The schedule is posted on the main page.

Zidane the furry one now has a new friend. Siegfried has joined our happy home so now I have two chinchillas to keep me amused by their quirky antics. In the middle of the month they will begin their introductions to see if they would like to share a cage or not. I’m crossing my fingers that they will completely love each other and be best friends for life!
In less than two weeks in Northern FL we have gone from needing a boat and scuba gear due to all the rain brought to us by Tropical Storm Debby to feeling as though we could cook breakfast directly on the sidewalks and streets thanks to the heat! I am completely over summer and would love to skip the rest of the miserable heat and other fun things that come with the season like mosquitoes, love bugs, heat stroke, etc. So far it looks like the highs for a while will be in the 90s and 100s! Luckily, I have not had any power-outages, otherwise my chinchilla Zidane would be quite uncomfortable since the highest temps he can stand are the mid 70s. I make sure that he had a frozen bottle wrapped in fleece in his cage whenever I go out just in case. I would be very upset to return home only to find that he died of heat stroke. He can be a brat at times, but he’s still a joy to my life. Him and my husband of course. I feel lucky to have them both, and the rest of the Trinity of course! They are awesome too.

We’ve been steadily preparing for Ancient City Con, July 20th-22nd. If you’re planning on going please stop by our table in Creator’s Alley and say hi, we’d love to meet you! I have also been working on Quaking Tower as well as other projects. It’s been a juggle but the end results will be worth it. One project, A Tail to Remember has been updated with a new chapter so please check it out. Next week will bring a new one for Spark of Vengeance.
We are still accepting submissions for our horror anthology, Shadows of the Mind. Please if you are interested visit the Submissions Page. Deadline is August 1st, 2012. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact us. Further information is listed on the submissions page.
I’m currently watching my chinchilla, Zidane literally eat his Easter basket. It’s a cute sight! He started on some of the bundles of sticks, then tried two of the different flavored cookies and is now chomping on the basket itself. It’s actually his first Easter with us. I’ve been trying to celebrate holidays with him the best I can which usually consists of chin-friendly chews like organic dried baby rose petals and a vine heart for Valentine’s Day and green colored chews like loofah and bamboo finger traps for St. Patrick’s Day. He’ll probably get a bunch of finger traps for Independence Day since when he chews on them it resembles confetti. Needless to say he’s having a good day despite his poor behavior yesterday (he knocked his food bowl upside down). I teased him about the Easter bunny not bringing anything because he was a bad chinny. Of course he didn’t take me seriously. I’ll be in an Easter parade in Saint Augustine, FL later this day before spending time with family for the holidays. Happily enough I got TWO Lindt bunnies this year; the only type of milk chocolate I like. It’s so smooth and creamy.
Chapter twelve is now available for A Tail to Remember. Kallie is still reeling over the day’s events and ends up with an unexpected surprise. I think Mittens reminds me a bit of Zidane. Especially in this chapter. Next week will be a new chapter of Spark of Vengeance.
